Re: Potential Transfer Targets
So the strikers that have been linked with us so far;
Craig Bellamy, Robbie Keane, Bobby Zamora...Dubi Ogbonna - a non-league striker. Hardly one to get the pulse racing.

STV also said that James Vaughan may be coming on loan from Everton.

fuck James Vaughan, i'd rather that fella hooper, at least he has a good goalscoring record. we're never getting Keane or Bellamy so i'd go for Stokes. i wouldn't hold him chosing Sunderland against him.

Re: Potential Transfer Targets
Lawrence definitely talks the talk....even talks about celtic as 'we' if this article is to be believed....

“I know Celtic haven't had the best of seasons, but if they can bring in a few players, then I'm sure we can try to and turn things round up there.”

Lawrence is the one deal i'm confident about, he wants to come, we want him, the only problem is how tight the board are. the whole N'guemo things a bit of a joke. he played well, there was an agreed fee and we're trying to get him for less. 43 games last season ffs, get him signed.

Aye Lawrence will be a Celtic player next season I'm sure. Campbell will come too I reckon but I'm doubtful about Ledley and Bullard.
I would really like too think that Lennon wasn't too keen on N'Guemo rather than him wanting him but the board being tight cunts and wanting a reduction on a set fee.
If we are gonna go with a 3 man centre midfield next season then we should have signed him as his lack of passing ability wouldnae have mattered too much if he has two good passers next to him. If we're just gonna go with the same formation as this season then I'm not too bothered about it tbh.

Re: Potential Transfer Targets
with the players we have we should be playing 4-3-3, N'guemo, Brown and Ki, it would bring the best out of the 3 of them.
N'guemo was at his worst going forward, which was when it was him and Crosas in CM, as long as he's just playing DM i really want him to stay. breaks up the play so well.

Re: Potential Transfer Targets
to be fair i could take or leave n'guemo. The board, though, need to change their penny pinching ways pronto

Re: Potential Transfer Targets
n'guemo was one of the few high points in a disaster of a season. did anyone play more games than him? maybe McGeady but his reading of the game and winning the ball back is excellent. similar style to lenny and people didn't slag him about being shite going forward.

thats true but he is nowhere near the player lenny was. He was excellent away in moscow but his form was up and down after that

Re: Potential Transfer Targets
i think most of the criticism of N'guemo comes from games when he played CM with crosas so the onus was on nKguemo to get forward, which he's shite at. not at Lennys level but a very similar player and i really hope we sign him.

Re: Potential Transfer Targets
he's undoubtedly a good player but for me he was too erratic, though that may have been due to his playing partner in midfield. I dunno, wount be unhappy if we do sign him i suppose, esp if he reproduces him form from moscow

Re: Potential Transfer Targets
NGuemo was half decent in a shit squad and team, not worthy of being kept unless we can't find a better replacement.

for the price he's an absolute bargain and if we're haggling over his transfer fee then we're hardly going to go out and spend more on someone else. i reckon Broooooon might play DM a fair bit next season, did quite well at tynecastle last day, fuck knows he cant do anything going forward so maybe thats his position?

We can't afford to accept mediocrity that's been our downfall for the last 2 seasons.
Re: Potential Transfer Targets
Rome wasn't built in a day and if we weren't accepting mediocrity we'd genuinely only have 6 or 7 players. it'll be a while before we have anyone as good as Lambo or Stan in CM again, in the meantime i'm happy with N'guemo.
we'll need trophies before the board back Lenny the way they did MON.

I think their is a big gap between NGuemo and Lambo/Stambo, big enough to fit a better midfielder.
Lennon should force the board into making the transfers and get rid of the shit players. The fans would understand.
Re: Potential Transfer Targets
i cant see Lenny trying to force the board to do anything. he knows who wears the trousers. the way Reid was speaking over him at the press conference showed that. it'll be a while, or a season at least, before he has any sway.
