Re: World Cup
Looking forward to the Germany game later as it can only be better than the other two games today, absolutely woeful bore-fests.

Re: World Cup
Germany were magic, at last a good game to watch. Any team who starts a game with no natural strikers deserve a thumping like that. The Germans have some quality players and they are always there or thereabouts when it comes to these tournaments anyway.
Muller is a class act.

Re: World Cup
its a fucking blessing in disguise that Ballack got injured. yer man ozil cut them asunder. it was men against boys for the majority of the game. lovin that moore cunt getting skint left right and centre. australians were cat at the back. youd think it was their first time playing together judging by the way they tried to play the offide trap.
germans were well scoped about it too. it was obvious that the germans had done their homework on the defence. you can always be sure that the germans are well prepared. that never changes.
look at their record in the last how many world cups. this is definitely their most untested squad in years and years. they look good.

Man City are favourites to get him. Have been for the past couple months at least. Although Liverpool have been after him too , but we know who will get him now. Hes been muted for a bit coming out from the bundesliga with bremen. shows the strength of that league too. He was under the radar , mostly because of Ballack. hes only had a handfull of starts with germany because of him.

Re: World Cup
just checked his wiki, he's from Turkisg stock. most of the german team seem to be ghanian or turkish these days. now i see why Bremen let Diego go, they got him for €4.3mill, i'd say he'll be moving for 5 times that now.

i remember being impressed by him in the Bundesliga but i actually didnt think he was German until I heard about Liverpools supposed bids amongst other speculation a while back and it said like..'hot german prospect..' .
ya missed it earlier hey...dunphy came out with another classic earlier...was dunphy , brady and dietar hamann in the studio....
dunphy discussing the germans from different backgrounds says....(not in exact words..im sure the link will appear soon)..
..'' we'll never have as many foreign born players as the germans , cause unlike the germans we didnt invade everywhere''
(hamann sitting beside him)

Re: World Cup
this dutch game is another snorefest. i was hoping for a 3-2. that defender laughing after scoring the OG needs a slap. Elia has been the highlight since he came on.

Re: World Cup
i've always liked the dutch, i love their style of football but they were flat as fuck today until elia came on. he was superb, i'd rather him and Robben, when fit, than Kuyt and VDV.

Re: World Cup
Caught the second half of the Dutch game, was pretty pish but Ellia played well when he came on, lifted things a bit. The Danish never looked like scoring.

Re: World Cup
the Danes looked like they'd rather be on holiday, piss poor.
this game now is appalling too, and Naka and N'guemo aten't even on the pitch to make it a bit more interesting.

Re: World Cup
What I saw of the Japan game was awful, Le Guen is clueless playing Eto'o way out of position in that Cameroon team. He's played there with Inter before iirc but with Inter he's got the likes of Sneijder and Millito beside him, with Cameroon he has Webo...
The first half of the Italy game was pish as well, better in the second half but still not great.
Should be much better tomorrow though...
Portugal vs Ivory Coast should be a good game, two good teams. And Brazil are playing North Korea so that should be an absolute rout for the Brazillians, should be a few goals in that one rather than the defensive boring pish we've seen so far.

Re: World Cup
i think i'll give the NZ game a wide birth today.
agree about Eto'o Ryan, he's the sort of player they should build the team round rather than leave him out on the right.
i feel for him, there's alot of pressure on him. they were unlucky with that shot that smacked the bar.

Re: World Cup
as Ryan said he plays there for Inter and did foe Barca too but he's head and shoulders above any other Cameroon player, build the team round him. he looked like he had the weight of a nation on his shoulders yesterday.
