A team that has lost their opening game at the world cup finals has never gone on to win it.

In saying that , I wouldnt rule out Spain yet. Not playing to their capabilities is a trait of the Spanish over the years but with the win at Euros everyone believed that those sheckels had been removed. Myself included.

they need to sort their MF out. seems strange saying it about a team with the best MF's in the world but at times there were 5 in CM yesterday.

nah, we do a competition in school were we predict group winners and runners up, 1/4 finalists, semis and winner and top scorer. You get points for each, ive uruguay to win group a. £110 pound for the winner

missed the germans game but the Yank one was pretty entertaining. quality strike for the first, some abysmal defending overall. major lol moment for the keeper when Donovan scored. what was the craic with the ref, did they just pick some punter off the street? utter garbage.

The Germany game was alright at times but for the majority of the second half the Germans were flat as fuck. The sending off was harsh as fuck tbh.

The Slovenia game was good tae watch, would have preferred they held out though as I really don't like the USA 'soccer' team. Nice too see Edu get fucked by the officials, makes a change from the norm for a hun!

i said after i watched their friendly with Japan that they're absolute shite. if England were half as good as they thought they'd be Brazil 1970. they'll still beat Slovenia and go through but not much further than that.
